Verifying your YouTube Account

Authenticate your YouTube account to ensure accurate video view attribution and timely payments

Updated over 7 months ago

Per Rembrand’s Creator Terms, Rembrand requires creators to connect and verify their YouTube account with Rembrand. This ensures Rembrand can attribute a creator’s video views with the correct video and channel so that the creator can be paid out in a timely and accurate manner.

Check out our video tutorial here, or follow the steps below.

Steps to verify your YouTube account:

  1. Log in to app.rembrand.com, navigate to “Account Setup” within the left side rail, and click “Verify” next to YouTube within the “Verify Your Social Accounts” section.

By clicking allow, the creator provides Rembrand read-only access to video analytics for the purpose of accurately calculating payments to creators based on video view counts, and providing brands with video data (e.g. view counts, likes, comments) on videos their brand appears in. Rembrand can make targeted API queries to the YouTube Reports Query endpoint as documented by Google here. Rembrand cannot make any modifications to a creator’s connected YouTube account, nor can Rembrand view or access any channel revenue data, follower data, or other potentially sensitive data. Rembrand can only gather data on a creator’s video URL that is provided for a video that includes In-Scene Media placement with Rembrand, specifically video view counts, likes, and comments.

  5. You will be returned back to app.rembrand.com and will see that your YouTube account is now verified.

Once verified “Enable Reporting and Forecasting” will be enabled by default. It is advised to keep this setting turned on as it benefits creators. First, YouTube reporting helps Rembrand to forecast how a creator’s video will perform and better monetize it with brands who wish to add In-Scene Media placement. The more accurate video view count Rembrand can guarantee a brand, the more likely the brand is to agree to the creator video. Second, YouTube reporting must be made available to Rembrand in order for creators to be appropriately paid for the videos they post with In-Scene Media placement. If desired, creators have the option to disable this setting once payment is complete for any videos reported on.
