Adhering to Rembrand's Brand Safety Requirements

Creator videos with In-Scene Media placement are checked for Brand Safety prior to going live

Updated over 8 months ago

Rembrand matches brands with creators to execute In-Scene Media. To help creators win repeat business from brands, it is important that videos with In-Scene Media placement meet Brand Safety requirements.

Before publishing any video with In-Scene Media inserted, Rembrand runs an automated safety check on the video content. The 16 standard categories that we flag via AI are:

  • Accidents

  • Alcohol

  • Crime Violence

  • Drugs

  • Gambling

  • Hate Speech

  • Health Issues

  • Marijuana

  • Natural Disasters

  • NSFW (Adult Content)

  • Pornography

  • Profanity

  • Sensitive Social Issues

  • Terrorism

  • Tobacco

  • Weapons

Detail on these categories is available via Assembly.AI, who is a specialized leader in the space. Rembrand leverages Assembly.AI's content moderation modules behind-the-scenes, allowing us to flag the above 16 categories based on context and sentiment, not purely based on keywords. Rembrand also leverages other AI tools, including Rekognition visual review, Hive logo detection, and LLM sensitivity checks, to execute a comprehensive and automated review on every video.

Frequently Asked Questions

If my video gets flagged by Rembrand, what happens?

You will receive an error message within the Rembrand app that details why your video did not pass the Brand Safety standard and what action is needed to proceed.

Can I resubmit a video after removing any flagged items?

Yes. If you were flagged for something that you can go without, edit the video to remove the flagged item(s) and submit it to Rembrand again for placement.

I swear in my videos, is that okay?

Yes, we do allow some level of profanity in videos. Also, each brand has a different level of "edginess" that they are okay with. You do not need to cut out swear words entirely, but do be conscious that certain words, or at an extremely high frequency, are more likely to get flagged.

What should I avoid when submitting videos to Rembrand?

Check out the categories above for items that are flagged. In addition, keep in mind that most brands do not allow competitive content in their sponsored videos. For example, if you are approved for a PepsiCo campaign, Rembrand may flag your video if you have a physical bottle of Coca Cola in the shot.

I've been flagged multiple times; is it worth trying again?

Absolutely. Different brands have different standards for the types of videos they are willing to accept. In addition, a non-competitive brand may come up in the future (e.g. if you typically do beauty/makeup content, and therefore cannot fit with a competitive beauty brand placement, you could be a good fit for a footwear brand in the future).
